Kuantan

Kuantan - my hometown. If there's anywhere that you can find both development and decaying buildings along a street, this is it.
Development & Decay

Forbidden

While Kuantan is currently undergoing development, truth to be told, the town has never quite garnered the development momentum that spurred Kuala Lumpur into the metropolitan it is now. In fact, everywhere you go, you'll see empty buildings, some badly needing restoration.

Resident & Urban Decay

There aren't that many modern skyscraper in the town, there is no crazy traffic jam that you get during rush hours in KL, and everyone is just moving at a much slower pace. Certainly, if you're looking for a city life, you won't find it.

But if you're looking to relax, Kuantan is the perfect location.

I look forward to seeing you again Kuantan.

Serenity

Lovely little place which brings you away from capitalism, materialism, and commercialism... isolating yourself from the external voices telling you what you should be doing and how catastrophic it is if you have failed to achieve anything noteworthy by now. I need that, most of us do - if only just to find my true north, if only to just let myself think.

It's ridiculous, ridiculous how failure is exacerbated to the point that ANY failure is intolerable, and it's equally unfortunate that the notion has been internalized in me. It'll take a while but I'll have to reverse this, or else I can't just keep peace with myself.
